Paint Correction in Purcellville
Machine polishing to remove swirl marks, oxidation & light scratches | From $600

Restore Clarity to Your Paint
Paint correction is machine polishing that removes defects from your car's clear coat. Swirl marks, light scratches, oxidation, water spots, bird dropping etching, and holograms all live in that thin top layer of paint, and a polisher with the right compound can level them out so the finish reflects light cleanly again.
It's not a magic eraser. Deep scratches that go through the clear coat into the base coat or primer can't be polished away without burning through the paint, and dents and rust need body work, not polishing. We do this work in a controlled-environment bay in Purcellville, which matters because polishing throws up dust that settles back onto the paint if you're working outside.
- Two-step machine correction (compound & polish)
- Removes swirl marks, oxidation, water spots & holograms
- LED inspection lighting and controlled-environment bay
- Recommended prep before ceramic coating
Paint Correction from $600
Final price depends on vehicle size and paint condition. Our ceramic coating packages include two-step correction, so if you're coating the car you may not need a separate correction service.

Three clear steps from the minute you drop off to the minute you pick up.
Inspect & Assess
We inspect your paint under high-output LED strip lights, map out defects, and run a test spot to choose the right compound and pad for your clear coat.
Compound & Correct
A cutting compound and foam or microfiber pad level deeper defects by removing microscopic clear coat. We work carefully to avoid heat buildup and buffer trails.
Finish & Protect
A finishing polish refines the haze into a high gloss. We wipe every panel with inspection fluid, then can apply ceramic coating or PPF to lock in the finish.
Why Purcellville Drivers Choose Huck and Company
Two-Step Machine Correction
Compound to cut, polish to finish. This is the same correction process included with our ceramic coating packages.
Controlled Indoor Shop
We polish inside a clean, controlled-environment bay in Purcellville so dust and pollen don't settle back onto the paint.
Prep for Ceramic Coating
Once the paint is corrected we can apply XPEL ceramic coating or Icon Rocklear protection in the same visit, without risking new scratches.
Honest Assessment
We'll tell you upfront which scratches will come out and which are too deep. We won't promise to fix what would burn through your clear coat.
What Paint Correction Fixes
These common paint defects all live in the clear coat and can be leveled out with the right machine polish.
Swirl Marks
Circular micro-scratches from automatic car washes, dirty sponges, or dry-wiping the paint. Almost every used car has them.
Light Scratches
Keys, rings, bushes in a narrow driveway, or a dog jumping on the door can leave marks in the clear coat. If your fingernail catches, it may be too deep.
Oxidation
UV exposure breaks down the clear coat over time, making paint flat and chalky. Older cars and vehicles parked outside full-time are hit hardest.
Water Spots
Hard water leaves mineral deposits that can etch into the clear coat and become permanent. Sprinkler overspray and sun-baked rain are common culprits.
Holograms
Faint wavy patterns on dark paint, usually left behind by a rotary buffer that wasn't finished properly. A finishing polish removes them.
Bird Etching
Acidic droppings eat into the clear coat if left for more than a day or two. Light etching polishes out; deep etching may need touch-up paint.
